Dzygaryk: a class schedule app for students in Ukraine

Dzygaryk, a free app that shows students their group's class schedule, is now available on the App Store and Google Play.

At the start of a semester, first-year students often don't know where to look for their schedule: on the university website, in a spreadsheet from the dean's office or in the group chat. The schedule also keeps changing as classes get moved and rooms get swapped. Dzygaryk takes the schedule from the university's website, shows it on the phone and lets the student know when something changes.

What Dzygaryk does

After installing the app, a student picks their university and group. From then on the app:

  • shows the next class and the room it is in;

  • shows the schedule for today and for the whole week;

  • sends a notification when a class is moved, cancelled or changes rooms;

  • keeps the schedule on the phone, so it can be seen without internet;

  • lets students share their group's schedule with a link or a QR code.

No sign-up is needed. The app doesn't ask for a university account password and doesn't collect grades or attendance data.

Where the schedule comes from

Dzygaryk reads schedules from universities' public pages and checks them regularly. The app shows when the schedule was last updated and links to the university page it was taken from. The project is independent and not affiliated with any university.

Which universities are supported

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics are fully supported. Schedules for some groups are already available at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, NaUKMA, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and NULES of Ukraine, as well as at Odesa Polytechnic, Dnipro University of Technology and Zhytomyr Polytechnic. More universities are added over time, and if yours isn't on the list, you can suggest it right in the app.

How to get started

The app is free. Install it, choose your university and group, and allow notifications. The app itself is in Ukrainian.
